It has been said that I was born with a vivid imagination and a natural talent for painting. I was the kid lagging behind the group because I was busy observing every detail exquisitely close, or painting for hours with contented delight. When I was seven my father, a hobby watercolor painter and artistic inspiration to me, looked at what I'd painted and said I was ready for "the good paper!" I've been swept away by the creative process for as long as I can remember, and devoted to fine-tuning my painting skills through experimentation, practice, and continually pushing my creative edge. 

 Inspired by a reverence for the natural world, I keenly observe the magic and beauty of our living planet and bring it to life on canvas. Gifted with a sensitivity to see and feel energy, I also bring unseen aspects of nature into the visible world through my art. My thirst for wilderness adventures and ambition to paint what I experience out there, mutually inspire each other in a cohesive lifestyle, bringing the perfect balance between travel and home-studio time.

Inspiration

 I’m inspired by the creative process itself. When I paint it’s like a meditation and I reach a place of ultimate freedom, where anything is possible and time no longer exists. My subject matter is inspired by the magic and beauty of the earth. I’m passionate about bringing unseen elements into the visible world, and sharing my real experiences in nature, as I see them.

Techniques

I incorporate a contrast of abstract and realism in my work, creating tension and release during the creative process. I usually begin with release. Warming up with a cathartic dance of intuitive brushstrokes and colors that create the basic space and form for what I will paint. This stage allows room for chance and permission to experiment. I gain new skills and techniques in the process of exploring different effects of acrylic paint. From there I gradually build tension by fine-tuning the details through a series of over-layers. Each new layer demands more patience and skill as I bring the realistic aspects to life on the canvas.
